The Morning Roundup

The Morning Roundup 5/23/12

Good morning! Here are your deals for the day:

Must-Buy:  RFD in Chinatown is already a great spot to grab a burger for lunch or a drink and some delicious pretzels with a friend, and today’s Groupon deal makes it that much better.  The deal doesn’t allow you to get dinner, but that’s really not what RFD is for.  We say don’t miss this one.

Must-Buy:  This isn’t a food deal, but today’s Scoutmob for Rocket Bar is a great chance to save some money at one of the more fun bars in DC.  Sprawling with pool tables, shuffleboard, and other games, Rocket Bar is a great place to spend a few hours.  Take advantage of this Scoutmob for a fun, inexpensive night out in the District.

Fifty-Fifty: Oh, LivingSocial, you fancy today.  Both of Livingsocial’s deals today are for all-you-can-eat pop-ups in their F street event space:  a $39 2-hour bottomless mimosa brunch from Chef Frederik de Pue, and all-you-can-eat pork from an entire roasted pig and washed down with all-you-can-drink beer for $45.  Our first instinct was to say avoid, because both these deals are too expensive and a bit gimmicky.  But they also look real fun, especially the pig-pickin, so if you feel like spending and one of these deals is calling your name, we say go for it.
