The Morning Roundup

The Morning Roundup: 6/1/2012

Happy June everyone!  To celebrate the new month the deal sites are

Must Buy: $30 for $60 at Kinkeads is a Livingsocial deal you cannot pass up.  You likely have not eaten at Kinkeads.  If you have you probably do not need food deals in general because you are working with pretty deep pockets or your parents took you here when they visited you at GW.  For the normal folk who haven’t had the pleasure, this deal can help you land a half off meal and one of DC’s best seafood restaurants, run by a James Beard Award winning chef.  The $60 may not cover everything, but it will get you most of the way there.

Fifty-Fifty: Scoutmob’s %50 off purchases up to $40 at Crystal City Sports Pub is a good deal.  This large sports bar offers a pretty sizable menu with affordable sandwiches and burgers and the like.  It is only a 50/50 because the deal does not apply to alcohol, which I find sort of defeats the purpose of a pub deal.  But by all means, if you are getting off a plane, staying at a hotel nearby or just hanging about in Crystal City, grab yourself a burger on the cheap.

Fifty-Fifty: $20 for $40 at Ulah Bistro is our offering from groupon today.  Another deal which doesn’t let you apply drink specials and happy our prices, this is still a pretty good offer.  $40 dollars will get you and one or two other people pretty far on Ulah’s menu, so if you are keen on hanging at U street or brunch menus or both, go for it.

Also, a shameless plug.  The Capitol Deal is offering four tickets to this years Source festival  at The Source theater for $30.  This is a festival of new theatrical works including ten minute plays, full length plays and what they refer to as ‘artistic blind dates.’  If you like theater, check it out, especially the ten-minute plays with the ‘Redeeming Demons’ theme (I’m in those).
