The Morning Roundup

The Morning Roundup 6/12/12

Only two deals this morning [LATE BREAKING FOURTH DEAL UPDATE].  Here you are:

Fifty-Fifty: Got a date planned and looking for somewhere nice to go?  Take advantage of Scoutmob’s deal at 1905 Bistro, where $25 off will just about cover dinner for two at this French/Southern hybrid.  The food gets mixed reviews, so it may not be worth it if you’re just looking for a great meal, but the vibe is perfect for wooing your potential significant other.

Avoid:  The Capitol Deal’s wine-and-food-pairing class for two for $79 is just too expensive for me to recommend, especially considering the lack of reviews available for Food and Wine by Nafi.  There are better deals for food and drink in the district, or keep an eye on LivingSocial if your heart is set on this sort of event; they’ve been rolling out similar deals with extremely well-known DC chefs.

Must Buy Update: Groupon came late to the party today with a great looking deal on a favorite breakfast treat, waffles. This deal to Back Alley Waffles ($8 for waffles for 2; $15 for waffles for 4) looks awesome. Get yourself down to Logan Circle (1209 10th St. NW) and chow down.

Avoid Update: If you’re going to the Penn Quarter for nice Italian avoid Tuscana West and their Groupon for $20 for $45. This won’t get you all the way to meal for two and with mediocre food, you’re better off making another selection. Their website also plays some opera when you sign on, so if you’re at work make sure you have headphones in.
