The Morning Roundup

The Morning Roundup 6/18/2012

What a lovely Monday we have on our hands! After a wonderful weather weekend (that I hope you spent outside grilling) we’re back in action. We have a lot of good things coming your way this week here on ETD. We’ll start off the day with a few good deals and a few non-traditional deals.

Must Buy: If you love pig, then we have a very fascinating deal for you this morning. The Capitol Deal is offering a number of interesting packages from the Pig of the Month club. With a number of packages to choose from (all at great prices) you can really spice up your summer BBQ with great meat. I’m looking at $22.95 for 2 lbs. of Artisan Pork Belly Bacon.

Must Buy/Avoid: Our second interesting deal of the day is one that is either going to be a Must Buy  or Avoid depending on who you are. Google Offers is giving you the chance to sit down with renowned DC Chef Kaz Okochi for dinner and sake. For $100 you will have the chance to be taught how to make sushi be one of 2012’s RAMW nominated “Chef of the Year.” At these classes you often always make too much food, so you’ll go home stuffed after learning from one of the best. The price tag is scary, but the opportunity is unique.

Fifty-Fifty: DC does a lot of good El Salvadoran food. Scoutmob’s 50% to La Casita Pupuseria and Market in Silver Spring (8214 Piney Branch Rd.) is another great example. You only get up to $5 off so it’s not an astounding deal, especially considering you have to go to Silver Spring. But, the food is good and the pupusas aren’t expensive ($1.75 a pop). So if you’re up in Silver Spring and craving some tasty grub, get in on this deal.

That’s what we got for you this morning, check back later at Steve binges on tapas.
