Yellow Vendor: Truck Love

I have been involved in my own private love affair with food trucks for quite some time now.  Our relationship is exciting and ever changing.  Yes, sometimes food trucks let me down, and of course we have problems just like everyone else.  But we always seem to bounce back and I frequently find myself returned to the warm embrace of the ever-welcoming food truck community.

My relationship with these rolling restaurants didn’t begin with Yellow Vendor, but since first having it a while back, the sparsely adorned bright yellow truck has sat on page one of my little black book.

Pi Truck DC: Going Crust Deep

Pizza is not easy. In fact, trying to break into the heavily saturated pizza market that is DC seems like some twisted form of sadomasochism. Pizza is everywhere in DC. Every neighborhood has their favorite spot, be it one of the Pizzeria Paradiso locations, Comet Ping Pong (named best pizza in DC by Food Magazine) way up Connecticut North, or one of the several places to pick up a ‘Jumbo Slice’ in Adams Morgan or the U Street corridor. All this variety and local favoritism would be daunting for any wannabe pizza pusher, but the folks over at Pi Truck DC are bringing something special.

Food Truck 101: An Introduction

Food Trucks are like people. Some folks love them, some folks don’t. They come in all sizes and shapes and colors. Some smell bad. Some smell unbelievable. Some are so attractive that when they go by, they slow down traffic, while some food trucks fly under the radar, seemingly uncaring about trendy fashion and flashy gimmicks, only to shock us with the goodness that is inside. But perhaps the most important similarity between food trucks and people is that, in the DMV anyways, their population seems to be growing at an alarming rate.
