Good morning! Some good restaurants on our radar today; unfortunately, the deals themselves aren’t always quite so hot. Here’s what we got today.
Must-Buy: Groupon continues its run of 2012′s best deals with today’s offer of $20 for $40 of food at Lebanese Taverna, and once again we’ll declare you should absolutely take advantage. This place serves up some delicious Lebanese food, and $40 is enough to cover two entrees. The only downside? The deal only applies to the Bethesda location, meaning a bit longer trip up the Red Line than if you could visit their Woodley Park spot. Still, in this case, we think the extra 15 minutes is worth it.Read On

Hello! Apparently, today is “Repeats from 2012″ day on the dealz sites (with the exception of Scoutmob), so we’ll follow along and give the exact same advice we did in 2012. The good thing is, our advice is to get these deals ASAP!
Must Buy: A lot of the time you’ll see deals that exclude Happy Hours. Today’s Google Offer goes the other way. $12 for $24 to Cafe Citron (1343 Connecticut Ave., NW) only valid during happy hour. Now this is likely the only time I would go to Cafe Citron (the prices are pretty high), so this is a killer deal.Read On

Brrrr. That’s all I’ll say about this week. I hope you haven’t turned into a popsicle because that’s quite possible with the weather we got going. Sorry we weren’t around yesterday, we were caught up in a post-Inauguration haze. But we’re back and hopefully we got some deals for you (I wrote this intro before even checking the deals this morning, and like Kerouac I have no editor).
Must Buy: We’ve featured a very similar deal to today’s Google Offer to Flippin Pizza (1745 Connecticut Ave., NW) back in August.Read On

Well hello there. It’s another beautiful day in DC (sarcasm!). If it’s going to be cold and rainy in January, can we please just get a little colder and turn it into snow? Please? Somebody? It’s also the middle of the week so you’re halfway home. You can make it to the long weekend. To the deals!
Fifty-Fifty: I like today’s LivingSocial’s $15 for $30 to Bankok Bistro at Ballston (715 North Glebe Rd.), I do. It’s better than your average Thai deal. However, it’s not superb (you’re going to get two entrees and one appetizer) and if you live in DC you’re going to have to pay for metro or a cab or gas.Read On

Good morning! Only one deal for you today, and oy do I have mixed feelings about it.
Fifty-Fifty: Oh man. Based on the recent reviews of Nage in Dupont Circle, today’s Livingsocial deal would be an easy, no-brainer, absolute must-buy if I was rating it on the food alone. The problem here? $20 for $40 just isn’t going to cut it for dinner for two, unless you’re willing to narrow your choices to only the least expensive entrees and forgo the delicious-looking appetizers and desserts. Definitely pick this up if you’re looking for a $20 discount on a delicious dinner in Dupont, but if you need your deals to cover the whole price, this is unfortunately one to skip.Read On

Friday! We made it! And there are a lot of deals out there. Here we go:
Must-Buy: Even though it’s out in Falls Church, today’s Google Offer for three courses at 2941 for only $50 is fantastic. For an upscale, occasion restaurant like this that’s turning out some delicious food, you’re not going to do much better. Pick this up immediately, and start planning a special night out.
Fifty-Fifty: I’m not particularly thrilled about an offer for Cafe Luna in Dupont, but the value of LivingSocial’s deal of $42 for a three course meal for 2 plus a glass of wine each is too high for me to make it an avoid. Let’s leave it at this: if you’re looking for great food, don’t get this deal.Read On

AND WE’RE BACK! We’ve heard your cries and our New Years Resolution is to get back to blogging. I know you’ve heard this from us before, but we have a plan and we’re back in business. Expect the Morning Roundup Monday-Friday and new features Tuesday-Thursday. This will keep us fresh and keep you entertained. We missed you all very much and we got a lot to talk about. For now let’s hit the roundup.
Must Buy: I’m going to break my rule about posting old deals. Because we’ve been off for so long I need to give you something special.Read On

We’re back from a brief hiatus, and we know you’ve missed us. We’ve hit mid-October and wow the weather is nice. Knock on wood. Let’s take a look.
Avoid: I wish we could have returned with something better for, but unfortunately you’ll have to wait until at least tomorrow. As we said in August you’re going to be able to do better than today’s LivingSocial to Mehak Indian Cuisine (817 7th St., NW). Give this one the pass, and find yourself something more tasty down Chinatown way.Read On

Happy Tuesday. For myself and my Jewish friends today isn’t a day to think about food. But I’m happy to share the deals with you despite my empty stomach.
Must Buy: Yes. Yes. Yes. We’ve spoken on the merits of Kushi (465 K St., NW) before, and today’s LivingSocial deal won’t disappoint. $25 will either get you a tasting menu for one (with sake) or $25 for $50 for the table. I recommend grabbing a few of these and heading down with some friends and making a night of it.
Fifty-Fifty: I’m not overwhelmed by today’s The Capitol Deal to Lavandou (3321 Connecticut Ave., NW).Read On

Welcome back to Monday. We apologize for taking Friday off, but the deals just weren’t there. So we turn the page and enter the last week of August. Scary. Football season is inching ever closer.
Must Buy: There is rarely a really good sushi deal. Often you’ll get a “lounge” type deal to a place that serves mediocre sushi. Or the bargain just won’t be there. Today’s LivingSocial for $20 for $40 at Sushiko (2309 Wisconsin Ave.,NW) is both a good bargain (for sushi) and has some tasty food.Read On
