The Morning Roundup 08/09/12
Theme of the day: restaurants we’ve featured before on The Morning Roundup. One deal gets better, one deal loses some value, and one deal is so similar I’m just going to copy and paste. Here’s what we got for you today.
Must-buy: Today’s Groupon is $12 for $26 Boston-import The Upper Crust in Dupont Circle, and if you’re craving some good pizza this is one you shouldn’t miss. This deal has a bit more going for it than the $10 for $20 one Micah gave a fifty-fifty in April; with $26, you’ll easily have enough food for 3, maybe 4 people, as this should cover or come close to covering both a pizza and one of their calzones.

The Morning Roundup: 6/8/2012
One great option and then a couple of deals for the section of Washington society that actually likes things in Georgetown.
Must Buy: Scoutmob’s %50 off up to $20 to Ma-Ma’s Southern Cuisine appears to be a home run. Serving up generous portions of Fried Chicken and sauteed fish along with delicious southern homestyle sides, this C-heights/Petworth eatery is very highly regarded for its comfortable ‘make yourself at home’ atmosphere and its cuisine. If you find yourself over there, this family run restaurant should be one of your first stops.

Half-price Tapas at Heritage India’s Happy Hour
Heritage India, a pretty swanky looking restaurant with one location just south of Dupont Circle and a second a few blocks north of Georgetown, is not a place you’d expect to find cheap food. A quick look at the menu confirms this: chicken tikka masala will run you $16, lamb vindaloo costs $18. But on my visit to Heritage India last Friday, dinner for three cost about $30, or just $10 a person. The secret–just like for sushi– is to go during happy hour.
