Today we got one deal for you and it’s pretty good.

Must Buy: Scoutmob usually straddles the line between categories, but often is pushed over the edge because of it’s awesome business model. Today’s deal to J. Paul’s Dining Saloon (3218 M St., NW) is no different. The max discount is $20, which at J. Paul’s is right on the border of being a good deal. But no pressure to buy ahead makes it a slam dunk. If you’re in Georgetown and you can’t get into Bandolero (or you don’t want to shell out the bucks) and you need a very good second option, J.

Welcome back to Monday. We apologize for taking Friday off, but the deals just weren’t there. So we turn the page and enter the last week of August. Scary. Football season is inching ever closer.

Must Buy: There is rarely a really good sushi deal. Often you’ll get a “lounge” type deal to a place that serves mediocre sushi. Or the bargain just won’t be there. Today’s LivingSocial for $20 for $40 at Sushiko (2309 Wisconsin Ave.,NW) is both a good bargain (for sushi) and has some tasty food.

Must Buy: Yesterday Groupon had a late deal that I want to tell you about. It’s very similar to a deal we ran a few months ago, so I’m going to mostly plagiarize myself. I’m a big fan of a prix fixe menu. I often am overwhelmed by choices, and restauranteurs generally know what’s best on the menu. This menus, however, can often be expensive. Today’s LivingSocial Groupon deal is anything but.

Welcome to the middle of the week. Nothing much to say about it that any other Wednesday. So… to the deals!


Scoutmob: I am not H Street Correspondent Evan Chiacchiaro. However, I do enjoy a good burger. Today’s Scoutmob to The Big Board (421 H St., NE) screams Must Buy. It excludes Happy Hour (as is often the case), but does have a lot to offer deal wise. The burgers are serious stuff. $10 discount will get you two burgers easily. The drinks are not crazy expensive so you won’t break the bank here.

Must Buy: The Capitol Deal always intrigues me. They often have pretty interesting combination deals, and today is no different. Today they’re offering $22 for an entree and wine flight at Station 4 (1101 4th St., SW). This means three glasses (or tastes as is usually the case) and an entree for $22.

Must Buy: In a city not known for it’s pizza there’s a few places that have good deals and pretty good pizza. We’ve written about a few of them before, but today’s LivingSocial deal is for $14 for $30 to Flippin’ Pizza (1745 Connecticut Ave., NW).

Happy Wednesday. It’s only three more days until the weekend. You can do it!

Must Buy: I’ve never had food from New Zealand. I know they eat a lot of lamb, but beyond that I’m at a loss. So that’s partly why today’s Scoutmob to Cassatt’s Kiwi Cafe & Gallery (4536 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA) is so intriguing. With a max discount of $10 at lunch or $15 at dinner you’re going to get a good amount of food, a lot of which looks mighty tasty.

Avoid: A lot of times you’ll see restaurants featured on multiple deal sites.

Must-Buy: Considering its free, the words “must-buy” seem incorrect, but you know what we mean: today’s Scoutmob deal for a free beer at SOVA is as good as it gets. Known primarily as a cafe, SOVA serves beer, wine, and cocktails as well, and they’re looking to give some beers away.  Why would you pass up that chance?

Happy Thursday. We’re one day from August 3, which is a pretty special day (it’s my birthday). So hopefully we’ll have some great deals tomorrow. Today? Well let’s take a look at today’s deals:

Must Buy: One of the hidden gems of Georgetown is Wisey’s (1440 Wisconsin Ave., NW). They make a pretty solid sandwich/salad at a decent price. So that makes today’s Scoutmob a no-brainer. Only a $5 max discount, but the prices are pretty reasonable. Try out a smootie or a shake while you’re there.

Happy August everyone. August is my favorite month (and not just because it’s my birthday). Hopefully we’ll have some great meal to close out the summer. Today is not so hot.

Fifty-Fifty: H St is one of our favorites here at ETD. Our H Street correspondent Evan Chiacchiaro has given us the low down on many excellent spots. Today’s Scoutmob to Pho Bar and Grill got me  because it combined H Street and Pho. But then when I dug a little deeper I realized this deal was only so-so. With only a max discount of $8 you’re not going to be getting a ton of food.
